According to the American Diabetes Association there are over 25.8 million children and adults in the United States who suffer from Diabetes, a chronic disease whose complications kill over 400,000 people a year. A study done at the prestigious Harvard University Medical Center analyzed data and found that those individuals who had higher levels of selenium had a 24% reduction in the risk of Diabetes. The research team followed 1,162 healthy French men and women for 9 years and correlated that selenium had protective effects that significantly reduced the occurrence of dyglcemia.
