A Happy Heart Equals A LONG, FIT LIFE!

Move it or lose it…get pumping!

The folklore and romance surrounding the human heart has a long history. Humans have connected the heart to love and heath for centuries. Saying like “have a heart” or “I love you with all my heart” have come out because we instinctively know how important our hearts are to our lives, whether it’s for expressing sentiment or for living a long, healthy life.

Your heart is a muscle and like any muscle, if it doesn’t get the nutrition and workout that it needs every day, it will diminish in strength over time. You’ve heard analogies used such as “your body is like a car”, well the heart is your engine. You want to make sure you keep the engine clean so it can run at maximum capacity, any “gunk” that gets caught in it will require it to do more work, and therefore wear out faster.

Research has shown that Omega-3 Fatty Acids reduce inflammation and may help lower the risk of chronic disease such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis. Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids, meaning they are necessary for human health but cannot be made by the body. For the heart, these fatty acids also help to promote the cardiac electrical activity needed for proper function, it’s like a “jump start” for the heart each morning! Pampering the heart with proper nutrition, specific supplements, and activity can help you to protect your engine/heart from damage and failure.

Youngevity Ultimate EFA Plus contains a blend of Omega 3-6-9 Essential Fatty Acids from a blend of marine and plant sources. These sources have been expertly combined to ensure the proper ratios of the specific fatty acids needed to promote cardiovascular health and wellness.

Until next week,

Best Wishes for Ultimate Health and Majestic Dreams!

Social Media: Taking the Fear Out of Sharing with Pinterest!

Last week we focused on Facebook and Twitter as part of our social media awareness campaign. There are many other social media outlets to explore, but I would like to focus on Pinterest this week.

When I first heard about Pinterest, I didn’t “get it”. I didn’t understand what it was or why I should be involved. I’ve come to learn that Pinterest is like a digital scrapbook for ideas and images. As you cruise around the internet, visiting different websites, you can “Pin” an image to your Pinboard. The cool thing is, you can also organize the Pinboards (think of them as file folders) and sort your “Pins” (think of pins as articles, pictures, recipes, etc.), which is the ultimate joy for a Type A personality!

For some reason, to join Pinterest, you need to request an invitation from www.Pinterest.com. I know someone who waited a month to get in. I waited just a few minutes. I don’t know why the difference in waiting time (no rhyme or reason!) but I do know, it’s worth it! Here’s what got me hooked…. I’m always looking for new recipes, decorating ideas, and fashion ideas. I see plenty of them online but I always forget where I saw them or I bookmark the page and never return. Not anymore…. Pinterest to the rescue! Now I can “Pin” them when I see them! For a born multi-tasker like me, it’s perfect! What I like best is that I can search for ideas all over Pinterest and I can look on my friends pinboards for inspiration! Although I haven’t been on Pinterest very long, I’ve shared some of my interests and I’ve discovered some very cool things that I’ve actually “re-pinned”! Re-pinning is taking something someone else “Pinned” and adding it to one of your Pinboards.

Think of Pinterest as a collection of collections. In the end, it really becomes a reflection of your hobbies and interests. I finally “get” the attraction of this extremely flexible and easy to use social interest site! I’m sure that once you try it, you’ll “get it” too! Happy pinning!
