Fruits and Vegetables Promote Optimal Bone Health
Increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables promote bone health by reducing calcium loss according to a new study.
“When it comes to dietary concerns regarding bone health, calcium and vitamin D have received the most attention, but there is increasing evidence that the acid / base balance of the diet is also important,” said lead author Bess Dawson-Hughes of Tufts University in Boston.
“When fruits and vegetables are metabolized they add bicarbonate, and alkaline compound, to the body,” said Dr. Dawson Hughes. “Our study found that bicarbonate had a favorable effect on bone resorption and calcium excretion. This suggests that increasing the alkali content of the diet may reduce bone loss in healthy older adults.”

Successful Holiday Calling!
The holidays are a great reason to call ALL your Preferred Customers and Associates. Here are just a few tips to help you get on that phone!
- Put yourself in a positive frame of mind before you make the call so you can transfer your enthusiasm to them.
- Set your intention for the call. What do you want to have happen? How about reminding them you are there to help them with their holiday shopping? Suggest companion items that will complement what they have already ordered.
- Make first impressions count. The first fifteen seconds sets the tone for your entire call. Your most effective introduction is one with professionalism and warmth.
- Respect their time. “Is this a good time for you?” will show respect for his or her time and privacy.
- Build rapport. Everyone wants to feel special, so build rapport with a compliment or gesture of friendship.
- Go for the gold! You made the call – now make the most of the opportunity by offering to…
- Save money by shopping for the holidays with their members’ pricing at Youngevity®.
- Earn holiday cash by becoming a “Holiday Helper” by starting their business just in time to collect orders for the holidays.
- Shop in the safe and hassle-free environment of their home or office with a group of friends, or even just the two of you.
- No matter what the result of your call may be, always ask for a referral by saying, “Who else do you know that still needs to do their holiday shopping, or could just use some additional money this time of year?” People respect you when you are purposeful and professional.
