Brain Health and Alzheimer’s Disease Risk Reduction Support From New Omega-3 Study
Increased intake of the Omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) may boost the production of a protein known to destroy the plaques associated with Alzheimer’s disease, reports a new study.
Cells from mice, rats, and humans were used by the researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to show that the DHA-induced protein LR11 may cut the build-up of plaque from beta-amyloid deposits, reported to result in brain cell damage and the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
“Because reduced LR11 is known to increase beta-amyloid production and may be a significant cause of Late Onset Alzheimer’s Disease (LOAD), our results indicate that DHA increases in LR11 levels may play an important role in preventing LOAD,” wrote the researchers, led by Greg Cole in the Journal of Neuroscience.
Cole stated that he hoped the US National Institute of Health (NIH) would conduct a large-scale prevention clinical trial using fish oil at the earliest stages of the disease. He added that the NIH needed to instigate this research since it was unlikely that a pharmaceutical company will do so, since fish oil in pill form is already readily available and inexpensive.

Communication - 'The Golden Rule'
You've joined The Youngevity® Team and you're excited because your downline is starting to grow. . . but now what do you do? How will you keep your new team members interested and motivated? Whether you have realized it or not, you have now taken on the roll of manager, for your downline. The Associates will need your motivation, guidance and assistance if they are to make money for themselves and, in turn, make money for you. The biggest mistake you can probably make is to think that once you've signed someone up, the hard work is over. Well, as any experienced marketer will tell you, the fortune is in the follow-up! Therefore, when you've recruited someone into your organization, the work has only just begun.
One problem you will find, is that people join your business, and then do nothing. It is surprising, but a great deal of your downline will probably remain inactive. So, why do these people join? Well, there can be many reasons. Some people join this business out of curiosity, others to start their own business, whilst others may not know why they have joined! It's up to you, therefore, to motivate your recruits into action. Now, this is not necessarily as difficult as it may seem, provided that you remember the golden rule: Communication!!!
There is nothing worse than joining a new program and being left to it with no advice or help from anyone. So, it is important to start off on the right footing, by communicating with your new members from the outset and keep it going. Here are a few ways that you can achieve this.
Send a welcoming letter to all new applicants.
If someone has joined your organization, thank them for doing so. Let them feel welcome and a part of your team. Make sure that they are fully aware of how the program works, and offer help and advice if they need it.
Answer all inquiries quickly.
If somebody does ask for help, don't ignore them, or it may be the last you'll hear from them. Even if you don't know the answer immediately, a quick note back to say, "I don't know, but I'll find out", will be much appreciated. But, do remember to get back to them as soon as you can.
Don't get frustrated with basic questions.
Keep in mind that what appears to be a basic question to you, may not be to somebody new to the business. Just remember, if they are contacting you, then at least they are they are communicating with you.
Use the "Email Message Center" in Home Office.
Email your people often. Tell them the latest news on your program or give them hints and tips. If you haven't got much to say, then tell them a joke, tell them anything. Just remind them you are there.
Don't be afraid to repeat yourself. It's always a good idea to save some of your messages, and repeat them periodically. Remember that your more recent recruits won't have seen your earlier messages, and it never does any harm for your long-time downline members to re-read an earlier email. Conventional wisdom states that a person needs to hear a message seven times before they actually "hear" it.
Communication is the secret to managing your downline. Like all businesses, its most valuable resource is the people who work for it. Therefore, since people like to talk, talk to them!
