Dr Dwight Lundell

Dr Dwight Lundell

Dr. Dwight Lundell received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and General Surgery training at the University of Arizona in 1971.  He then went on to complete his training in Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery at Yale University. Dr. Lundell’s experience spans over 25 years and is known as a pioneer in "Off-Pump" heart surgery; reducing surgical complications and recovery times. He’s in the Beating Heart Hall of Fame and was listed in Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors for 10 years. Despite his many accomplishments as a surgeon, in 2003 Dr. Lundell recognized that heart disease was largely preventable and that the focus on cholesterol was misguided. It was then that he decided to close his surgical practice and open a clinic focusing on reversing diabetes and heart disease and educating others on the true cause of heart disease. He has published two books, The Cure for Heart Disease and The Great Cholesterol Lie, in addition to speaking out widely about proper nutrition and its effect on heart disease.  Additionally, Dr. Lundell is an avid athlete. He’s completed 10 Iron Man Triathlons with five 1st place finishes in his age group and competed in 5 world championships that include 2 podium finishes (4th and 5th place).
